Role Summary (Ahmedabad-Tuned)

The Azure Infrastructure Lead will own the design, migration, and operational excellence of Enterprise Azure infrastructure for customers of a Microsoft Solutions Partner. This role requires a hands-on Azure leader who can architect solutions, lead delivery teams, and engage directly with customers and stakeholders—while balancing delivery speed, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Azure Infrastructure & Architecture:

• Lead design and implementation of Azure infrastructure, including:

  • Virtual Machines, VNets, Peering, Load Balancers
  • Azure Firewall, Application Gateway
  • Site-to-Site VPN / ExpressRoute

• Design high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity architectures.
• Implement Azure Landing Zones aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
• Ensure adherence to Azure Well-Architected Framework (Security, Reliability, Performance, Cost).

Migration & Hybrid Cloud

• Lead on-premises to Azure migrations using Azure Migrate and a proven partner
methodologies.
• Plan and execute:

  • Data center exit strategies
  • Hybrid cloud architectures
  • Multi-region deployments

• Work closely with application, database, and security teams during a large migration
programs.

Security, Governance & Cost Management

• Implement Azure security and identity controls:

  • Azure AD / Entra ID, RBAC, PIM
  • Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud

• Define governance using:

  • Azure Policy & initiatives
  • Resource tagging, management groups
  • Role-based access and security baselines

• Drive cost optimization (FinOps):

  • Azure Cost Management
  • Budget controls & alerts
  • Rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans

Operations, Automation & DevOps

• Oversee Azure monitoring using:

  • Azure Monitor
  • Log Analytics
  • Alerts and dashboards

• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption:

  • ARM / Bicep / Terraform

• Lead automation via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Own incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements.

Leadership & Customer Engagement

• Act as technical owner for Azure infrastructure projects.
• Mentor and upskill Azure engineers and administrators.
• Lead technical solutioning in pre-sales, including architecture reviews and effort estimation.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Infrastructure
• Deep expertise in:

  • Azure Networking (VNets, VPN, ExpressRoute)
  • Azure Compute & Storage
  • Identity (Azure AD / Entra ID)

• Experience in hybrid cloud and on-prem integration
• Strong working knowledge of:

  • Windows Server, Linux
  • Active Directory, DNS

• Experience with:

  • Backup, DR, and high-availability architectures
  • PowerShell and Azure CLI

Tools & Platforms

• Azure Portal
• Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions
• ARM / Bicep / Terraform
• Azure Monitor & Log Analytics
• ITSM tools like ServiceNow or equivalent are preferred

Strongly Preferred:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

Highly Desirable:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership & mentoring mindset
• Clear communication with customers and internal teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and delivery priorities
• High ownership and accountability
